Totem Press is a newly formed New Zealand publishing company. Based in the beautiful provincial town of Palmerston North, it aims to produce the very finest works of New Zealand literature.

Totem Press is owned and managed by poet Tania Hinehou Butcher.

With good home-grown poetry and prose becoming increasingly scarce in New Zealand, this small but dedicated company will seek out and publish the work of talented and exciting writers.

Totem Press publishes books of quality; no rough card or cheap paper, and no ugly covers.

We take pride in our work, and in our authors' work.
